~Survey~
Well...officially 21 for three minutes. All I can say is, it's about time! ^_~ It feels like I've been 20 for five years, which most likely has something to do with living in three cities in the span of one year, and part time in a fourth.
Anyhow, I am a bit late posting this, but I did a survey sort of fun thing in Yu-Ling's blog, and part of the deal is that I must also post this in my blog:
(A) First, recommend to me:
1. a movie:
2. a book:
3. a musical artist, song, or album:
(B) I want everyone who reads this to ask me three questions, no more, no less. Ask me anything you want.
(C) Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this allowing your friends to ask you anything.
A couple of shouts out, for a very happy birthday to my cousins Andrea and Justin! (They're growing up so fast!!) And a happy early birthday to the one and only Elusive Miss D. Dawner Dawn Dawn =) The digits in your age both match...that only happens once every 11 years ;)
Thanks again to all who sent cards or emailed me today and over the past week...I know people always say it's the little things that mean the most, but rest assured that when I say such a thing, I truly mean it! Thank you so much =)
I hope that as each of you gears up into final exam mode or into work report mode, or wherever else God has placed you in life, that He will be with you...like He always is!
6 Comments:
Hello oneironaut =) I will check out your movie and song. As for Narnia, I agree, they're excellent =) I started reading them last co-op term, but unfortunately only got half-way through book six. I'm going to finish them over Christmas!
Your questions:
1. Oh, it's not "always" there, though I was always a pretty happy kid (I like to think I'm a realistic optimist) ^_~ I guess though, whenever I get discouraged, I just take a step back and realize how truly blessed I am, to be stressing over the problems I do...they seem so trivial when I look at "the big picture"
2. I was very stupid once while babysitting (age 13?) and didn't know when I was trying to make lunch that I was using a gas stove...to make a long story short, I almost blew up the house, which would have killed two little girls and myself by mistake...how the house didn't blow up is a miracle. Obviously, God wanted to keep me here for something!
3. It is unforgivable not ever in one's life to admit one's flawed state as a human being and recognize the fact that it is only through what Jesus did for us on the cross that can ever put us "right with God".
Hello! =) I will check out the song and movie! I am in the middle of the 6th Narnia book coincidentally, and I agree. They are excellent!
Your questions:
1. Although I've always thought of myself as a "realistic optimist", I am not, as you say "always" smiling ^_~ When I do get discouraged though, I've leanred that going to God FIRST makes all the diffence in the world, and that looking at the "big picture" helps me see how truly blessed I am to be stressing about the things that I do!
2. When I was 13 or so, I was babysitting and had to make lunch. I was unaware that the stove was gas, and to make a long story short, I almost blew up the house, which would have killed myself along with two little girls. It's a complete miracle that the house didn't blow up. Apparently, God wanted to keep me around for something or other =)
3. It is unforgivable to never in one's life admit to the fact that you can't be perfect on your own, and recognizing the fact that it is ONLY by what Jesus did for us on the cross that can set us "right with God".
Hey! Sorry about the double-post...I didn't think the first one went through and re-typed it all...oh well =)
